Article Icon 1 Kelsey Receives Presidential Pardon

President Trump fully pardoned former Tennessee Sen. Brian Kelsey on Tuesday, two weeks into his prison term for campaign finance violations from his 2016 congressional run.

Kelsey pleaded guilty in November 2022 to charges of attempting to funnel campaign money from his state legislative seat to his congressional campaign and unsuccessfully sought to reverse his plea.

In an interview upon his release, Kelsey praised the Trump administration, stating: “God used Donald Trump to save me. His election saved me from the Biden Department of Justice.”

A lunar eclipse will pass over the state Friday night, beginning around 11 p.m. CDT or midnight Eastern. The peak, which will create a blood moon, is expected at 1:26 a.m. CDT or 2:26 a.m. Eastern.

Three Tennessee cities were ranked among the ‘South’s Best Cities of 2025’, according to a new list by Southern Living Magazine.

Nashville, ranked fifth, was the highest-ranked Tennessee city. Readers praised its vibrant neighborhoods, such as East Nashville, its thriving food scene, and its diverse sports culture.

Chattanooga and Franklin, both showcasing historical attractions, also appeared on the list at Nos. 8 and 14 respectively. 

The list featured 20 cities voted on by 10,000 Southern Living readers, who ranked Charleston, South Carolina, as the best city overall.
