significant quantity of crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, and firearms has reportedly been seized in Nashville.

Nashville police and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) described the operation as the largest methamphetamine bust in the city’s history. More than a dozen individuals have been indicted.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Police Chief John Drake revealed that one method used to get drugs into the city involved shipping them to the addresses of uninvolved residents, with suspects waiting to snatch the packages from porches as the trucks drove away.

Drake added that police have intercepted more than 800 pounds of crystal meth and more than 24 pounds of fentanyl since November 2022.

Georgia authorities have confirmed that State Sen. Ken Yager was arrested for driving under the influence following a hit-and-run incident. Yager is the Republican Senate Caucus Chair.

The incident occurred Tuesday evening around 5 p.m., according to officials from the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

Troopers reported spotting a Ford Edge with Tennessee license plates that had been involved in a hit-and-run on Jekyll Island. The vehicle was identified as having a state-issued Senate tag.

Authorities said the SUV was found in the parking lot of Jekyll Market, where Yager was located. Troopers reported that Yager admitted to being involved in a crash.
