A federal court has dismissed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by Uncle Nearest CEO and co-founder Fawn Weaver, ruling she lacked authority to make the move.

The decision comes as the Tennessee whiskey brand faces a $108 million lawsuit from lender Farm Credit Mid-America over alleged loan defaults and lack of cooperation.

A court-appointed receiver was granted sole decision-making power for the company, including bankruptcy actions.

Uncle Nearest denies the claims, despite recent rapid growth that made it one of the fastest-rising whiskey brands in the country.

Summitt led the Lady Vols to eight national titles and remains one of the most influential figures in NCAA basketball.
