Join the Movement—Invest in The Flyover

We launched The Flyover to build something rare in American media—a newsroom focused on facts and real stories, not political narratives and biased reporting.

We’re now about halfway to our investment goal, thanks to more than 1,540 readers who have invested in our mission of independent, reader-driven journalism.

If you are an investor, thank you.

If you are not, I hope you will consider joining your fellow readers.

Before I focus on bringing in new investors, I would like to offer you, our readers, a special opportunity to be part of this next chapter. You’ve been with us from the start. You understand why The Flyover is needed—and I’d rather grow with you by my side than rely on outside investors who don’t share our values.

Making Investing More Accessible

That’s why I’ve asked our legal counsel to lower the minimum investment to $500—to make ownership in The Flyover accessible to more of the people who built it: you, our readers.

Why Invest in The Flyover

  1. Independent journalism matters. We answer to readers, not advertisers, political activists, or corporate boards.
  2. Our audience is soaring. From a kitchen-table startup to over 3.3 million readers nationwide, The Flyover is among the top 1% of fastest-growing media startups in America.
  3. We’re delivering results. Since our first investor round, readership has grown 27%, while maintaining a strong gross profit margin and expanding our reporting reach.
  4. You’re investing in trust. Nearly every dollar goes directly toward expansion and innovation—maintaining the fact-first, unbiased approach too often abandoned by legacy media.
  5. Return on your investment. As The Flyover continues its positive trajectory, there are several ways readers–turned–investors could benefit in the future: through a sale of the company, a public listing, or dividend distributions. While none of these are guaranteed, they reflect potential outcomes if our growth continues on its current path.

Owning a part of The Flyover is special. And even though it’s much more complicated and requires additional work for us to manage a larger group of smaller investors, I have instructed our attorney to proceed anyway. Because I want to partner with you, our readers.

If you’ve been on the fence, now is the time to invest.

Will you be part of the movement that changes the way Americans consume their news?

Article Icon 1Blackburn Backs Emergency SNAP Funding Bill

U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn is throwing her support behind a Republican-led bill to keep SNAP benefits flowing during the ongoing federal shutdown, blaming Democrats for holding up broader funding.

The Keep SNAP Funded Act would restore and continue benefits retroactively, as nearly 700,000 Tennesseans face a lapse in aid on Saturday.

Tennessee Democrats are urging Gov. Bill Lee to convene a special session and utilize state funds to bridge the budget gap.

GOP lawmakers pushed back, saying SNAP is a federal program and can’t be state-funded without federal infrastructure.

Article Icon 1Landfill Hits 4,000 Odor Complaints

The city of Murfreesboro has logged its 4,000th odor complaint against Middle Point Landfill, with some residents reporting the stench from up to seven miles away.

Mayor Shane McFarland called the site “one of the worst-run landfills in the country” and raised alarms about water contamination risks, though he said drinking water remains safe.

State regulators have cited the landfill for seven violations this year, some of which are related to the Clean Water Act.

BFI Waste Systems of Tennessee, which owns the site, pushed back, calling the city’s concerns political and claiming that the violations were minor and had been quickly addressed. See the odor reporting portal here.

Article Icon 1Facebook Tractor Scam Leads to Charges

A Facebook Marketplace scam in Hamblen County was foiled after a local man found his tractor listed for sale by someone else.

The scammer, using the alias “Angela Dawn Benz,” listed the tractor at $30,000 and arranged a meetup, unaware that the owner had alerted law enforcement and set up a camera near the tractor.

The owner’s sting operation helped investigators track the suspect, who now faces charges of criminal impersonation and attempted theft by deception.

Authorities warn residents to meet in public places and verify listings before handing over money or information.
