Army Suspends Crews After Kid Rock Flyby

U.S. Army officials have suspended four crew members after two Apache helicopters flew low near Kid Rock’s Nashville-area home during a training mission.

The aircraft had been operating over the city, including near a No Kings protest, though the Army says any connection to the rally was coincidental.

Kid Rock posted a video of the flyby, calling it a sign of respect, while military officials emphasized strict safety and professionalism standards.

The 101st Airborne Division says it will take appropriate action if its review finds that any rules were violated.

General Assembly Moves to Ban Laughing Gas

Tennessee lawmakers have passed a bill banning the retail sale of nitrous oxide, targeting its growing misuse as a recreational drug, especially among teens.

The measure allows continued use for medical, dental, and food purposes, but makes it a felony to knowingly sell the gas for intoxication.

The legislation now heads to Gov. Bill Lee and will take effect on July 1 if signed.

Lawmakers say the move would curb serious health risks, including potential death from inhalation.

MTSU Lands World’s Largest Punk Archive

Middle Tennessee State University now houses the world’s largest collection of punk records after underground magazine Maximum Rocknroll moved its archive from California to Murfreesboro.

The collection includes more than 50,000 vinyl records along with documents tracing punk’s rise from small club scenes to a global movement.

University archivists are working to catalog the material before opening it to researchers and the public.

School officials say the archive will support future research and preserve a key piece of modern music history.
