Warm Week Ahead, Storms Possible

Tennessee is enjoying an unseasonably warm start to 2026, with highs climbing into the 60s across the state this week.

Knoxville will stay mostly sunny and breezy through midweek, with a slight chance of rain Tuesday.

In Middle Tennessee, the warmth is setting the stage for possible strong storms Friday into Saturday as a cold front moves in.

Runaway Monkey Trashes Music Store

A cinnamon capuchin monkey caused damage at a Morristown music shop Sunday morning before being captured later that evening, police said.

The monkey reportedly got into Trade Center on South Cumberland Street and damaged both the business and some musical instruments.

Animal control initially failed to catch the animal at the scene, but officers located and secured it elsewhere hours later.

There are no details confirmed yet on where the monkey came from or who owns it, but there are reports that the critter was stolen from an Alabama farm.

Graceland Marks Elvis’s 91st With Events

Graceland is honoring what would’ve been Elvis Presley’s 91st birthday with a full week of celebrations in Memphis.

Festivities begin Wednesday with updated exhibits, followed by a birthday proclamation ceremony Thursday morning featuring friends and colleagues of the music icon.

Friday offers a deep dive into the Graceland archives, and events continue through Sunday.

The birthday bash is free to attend, with some ticketed events available.
