Raccoon Mountain Caverns is now the official property of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the school announced Monday.

The university plans to convert the caverns into a cutting-edge classroom and research laboratory, utilizing the intricate cave system known for its vast underground formations and rich biodiversity.

Dr. Steven Perlaky, an emergency medicine physician from the Chattanooga area, had owned the caverns since 1995 before donating them to UTC.

Supreme Court’s Transgender Case Focuses on TN

The Supreme Court will hear arguments Wednesday in a Tennessee case involving a ban on sex-change medical treatments for minors.

The ban has national ramifications, as it is similar to those in 25 other Republican-led states.

Tennessee’s legal representative is set to argue that these “life-altering gender-transition procedures” carry significant risks, are not fully validated, and that the state has a responsibility to safeguard children.

My Chemical Romance Drummer Found Dead

Bob Bryar, former drummer for My Chemical Romance, was found dead at his Tennessee home at the age of 44.

Bryar had not been heard from since Nov. 4, according to reports, and his body showed signs of decomposition.

Authorities ruled out foul play, noting that his musical instruments and firearms remained untouched in the house. The medical examiner is currently working to determine the cause and manner of his death.
