Answer: Chattanooga. While the Chattanooga Bakery first opened in 1902, after it began selling MoonPies in 1917, it became so popular the bakery ceased production on all of its other items. The original MoonPie dominated the bakery’s production cycle until the company introduced the Double-Decker Deluxe and added new flavors like Vanilla and Banana.
