Answer: Three different presidents have been from Tennessee: Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk, and Andrew Johnson. Polk was buried on the grounds of the Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville. Other Tennesseans that have served in high-ranking posts include one Vice President, several cabinet members, and different leadership positions in the House and Senate.
