Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national deported from Maryland amid a federal immigration crackdown, was indicted in federal court in Nashville for human smuggling. 

Prosecutors say he led a nearly decade-long operation transporting illegal immigrants—including MS-13 gang members and children—across the U.S. for profit.

Arrested after a 2022 Tennessee traffic stop, Abrego Garcia now faces charges of conspiracy and illegal transport, with an arraignment set for Friday.

A skydiving plane carrying around 20 people crashed near the Tullahoma Regional Airport just after takeoff on Sunday, according to state and federal officials.

No fatalities have been reported, but several people were seriously injured and airlifted to hospitals, while others were treated on the scene.

The de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter went down near Old Shelbyville Highway, prompting a major emergency response.

Authorities are investigating the cause.
