A Nyrstar worker at a Jefferson County mine died on Saturday following an early morning “underground incident,” prompting a full evacuation and federal investigation.

The mine was cleared after the 4:30 a.m. incident while rescue teams searched for the missing employee, who was later confirmed deceased.

The company, which processes zinc ore at the site, is cooperating with federal safety officials.

The victim’s identity has not been released, and the cause remains under investigation.

The Tennessee Valley Authority has added 500 megawatts of capacity to its power grid—enough to supply nearly 300,000 homes.

The boost comes from 10 new quick-start gas turbines at the Johnsonville Combustion Turbine Plant west of Nashville.

TVA says the expansion meets growing electricity demand while improving grid reliability across seven states.

More upgrades are underway, including 16 additional turbines at Kingston Fossil Plant and long-term plans to add 6,200 megawatts of new generation.

Article Icon 1Willow Fly Swarms Hit Midstate Roads

Massive hatches of willow flies—also known as mayflies—are swarming parts of Middle Tennessee, especially near lakes and rivers.

The insects don’t bite, but they’re causing problems for drivers by creating slick, low-visibility conditions on roads, particularly in areas like New Johnsonville.

The swarms peak in July and often leave behind messy cleanups once the short-lived flies die off.

Authorities are urging caution when driving through infested zones.

Analysts Project This Stock Could Reach $10 a Share. You Can Still Invest for $3.25 per unit.

Worksport’s stock recently hit $4.29 on the Nasdaq.

Some Wall Street analysts say it could reach $10.33 within a year—140% higher.

But you can still purchase units for  $3.25.

It’s through an offer you won’t find on the Nasdaq…

Right now, they’re giving investors the chance to buy investment units at a fixed price of $3.25.

Each unit gives you one convertible preferred share (with an 8% dividend) and one warrant to purchase another common share.

That’s up to two shares.

And yes, you can buy the units at $3.25, then immediately turn around and convert your preferred share, and then sell the converted common share.

The company has already made a name for itself by selling truck covers. Every 100 dealers they sign represents millions of dollars in potential revenue—and their truck tonneau cover business has already signed 400+ dealers, up 4X since the start of 2025.

They just announced a 50% production increase and 2X margin growth in the last five months.

Up next, a $13 billion market opportunity—the reason now is an exciting moment for investors to tap into.
