Graceland Fraudster Gets Prison Time

A Missouri woman who tried to auction off Elvis Presley’s Graceland with forged documents has been sentenced to nearly five years in federal prison.

Lisa Findley, 54, pleaded guilty to mail fraud after prosecutors said she created a fake company, forged Lisa Marie Presley’s signature, and filed false claims to extort money from the Presley estate.

A judge in Memphis handed down the 57-month sentence, calling her plot “brazen” and adding three years of supervised release.

The scam was halted last year when a court blocked the attempted sale at the last minute.

Recent Rain May Save Fall Colors From Drought

Heavy rainfall this week has eased drought conditions across Middle Tennessee, with some counties getting more than 5 inches of rain.

The moisture could set up a more vibrant fall foliage season, since drought often causes leaves to drop early without much color. Leaf watchers should now see more typical fall colors after a dry summer.

Forecasters say too much rain can still stress trees, but with cooler nights ahead, peak colors are expected by mid to late October.

Nashville Teen Wins Global Sumo Bronze

Seventeen-year-old Gabe Tolentino of Nashville earned a bronze medal at the World Sumo Championship in Thailand.

Competing in the junior heavyweight division, Tolentino represented Team USA and added to his growing reputation as one of America’s top young sumo talents.

The high schooler now plans to move up to the adult division, with his next competition set for Las Vegas. Follow Gabe’s journey by checking out his social media.
