Article Icon 1Blackburn Wins as Green Concedes

Republican Marsha Blackburn won Tennessee’s race for governor, becoming the first woman elected to the office in state history after Democrat Jerri Green conceded just after 10:30 p.m. last night.

At 74, Blackburn, who campaigned with an endorsement from President Trump, will also be the oldest person ever elected governor of Tennessee.

The race was tighter than pre-election polls showed, with Blackburn leading Green about 46% to 43% late Tuesday and independent David Hatley drawing roughly 9%.

Blackburn declared victory onstage in Nashville before the AP or NBC News had called the race. She’ll succeed term-limited Gov. Bill Lee in January.

Article Icon 1Escaped Killer Caught in Missouri

Escaped convicted murderer Jacob Morley was captured yesterday in Missouri, more than a week after breaking out of the Northwest Correctional Complex in Lake County.

Missouri troopers took him into custody without incident near Norborne, about an hour east of Kansas City, roughly two hours after the TBI tipped them off that he might be traveling through the state.

Officials said Flock license plate cameras helped locate the vehicle he was driving, after the manhunt reignited earlier in the day with reports that he’d stolen a second vehicle.

Morley, 28, is serving a life sentence for a 2022 killing in Carter County.

TDOT announced more community meetings on the I-24 Choice Lanes project, which would add two toll lanes in each direction along 26 miles of interstate between Nashville and Murfreesboro.

The open-house meetings include sessions from 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at Trevecca Nazarene University and Nov. 18 at the Smyrna Event Center, where developer DriveTN will share design and schedule updates.

The 50-year, $9.2 billion deal with the Spain-based consortium includes nearly $148 billion in promised payments to the state over the life of the contract.

Financial close on the project is expected in the third quarter of 2027.

The Hormone Behind Thinning Hair After 50 (It’s Not Just a Men’s Problem)

If your part has been widening, your ponytail feels thinner, or more hair is collecting in the shower drain, you’re not imagining it.

According to a menopause specialist, when estrogen drops after 50, the relative balance of a hormone called DHT rises. And DHT is known for one thing: shrinking hair follicles.

That’s why so many women who never had hair trouble in their 30s and 40s suddenly see it later. It’s also why thickening shampoos and biotin gummies often disappoint. They don’t address what’s happening at the follicle.

The good news? She says many of those follicles aren’t gone, just dormant.

Her approach skips the serums and foams entirely. It’s two capsules a day, built around a mineral pairing many women over 50 run low on.

The Missing Nutrient Behind Thin Hair

After 50, many women run low on one mineral that helps keep DHT, a hair-thinning hormone, in check.

Biotin won’t fix that. Neither will another bottle of thickening shampoo.

A menopause specialist and an Austin hairstylist found that pairing this mineral with one B vitamin, plus three other targeted nutrients, may help support fuller, stronger-looking hair from the inside out. No serums, no foams. Just two capsules with your morning coffee.
