Question: The original town of Johnsonville in Humphreys County disappeared in the 1940s. What happened to it?

Answer: It was flooded by Kentucky Lake when TVA built Kentucky Dam, forcing residents to relocate. Part of the Civil War battlefield survives today as Johnsonville State Historic Park.
