Own The Flyover
From the Founder’s Desk:Why I Want Flyover Readers to Own The Tennessee Flyover

When I decided to accept investors in The Tennessee Flyover, one thing mattered to me more than anything: that our readers would have the chance to become our owners. If I had my druthers, every single investor in The Tennessee Flyover would be a Tennessee Flyover reader. That’s why we’ve structured this offering with you in mind:
  • 5% bonus shares for all Tennessee Flyover readers who invest
  • An additional 5% and 10% bonus for those investing larger amounts
Legally, the offering is open to any U.S. citizen. But my heart—and our strategy—are focused on keeping ownership in the hands of our readers. Right now, we’re less than $350,000 away from hitting 50% of our ultimate funding goal – but our Q3 deadline for 50% raised has passed, and we are behind.
That’s why I’m asking our readers one more time: will you consider investing in The Tennessee Flyover today?
But some of our readers are asking: “How do I get a return on my investment?”
Here’s why The Tennessee Flyover is different:
  • Already profitable after just two years (most start-ups never are)
  • 80% gross margins and 24% net income (exceptional margins)
  • In the top 1% of media start-ups (proven strength)
How investors could realize returns:
  1. A Sale – Only to a partner who shares our values. (CNN or the New York Times need not apply.)
  2. Public Listing – Shares traded openly on an exchange.
  3. Profit Distributions (Dividends) – Because we’re already profitable, this is possible.
Recap: Sale. Listing. Distributions.
My Closing Pitch

More than 1,450 Flyover readers have already joined us as investors. We’re just $350K away from our next milestone. If you’ve been considering investing, now is the moment. Let’s finish this round together and make The Tennessee Flyover a news company truly owned by its readers.

Will you be one of the investors who help us keep The Tennessee Flyover reader-owned?

Despite nationwide declines in campus free speech, Vanderbilt University and Middle Tennessee State University landed in the top 20 in a new ranking from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression.

Vanderbilt jumped from 140th to 7th after launching a dialogue program and adopting stronger policies, while MTSU debuted at 15th thanks to its Free Speech Center and First Amendment programs.

The rankings come amid national discourse about free speech on college campuses following the assassination of free-speech advocate Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.

After Hurricane Helene devastated parts of East Tennessee last year, UT-Knoxville professor Haochen Li developed a high-resolution flood prediction system to help prevent future tragedies.

Teaming with students and the AI Tennessee Initiative, Li created the XWM-Powered Flood Risk Viewer—an AI-driven tool that simulates flooding in real time using satellite data, FEMA maps, and advanced modeling.

The system focuses on mountainous and inland areas often overlooked by national forecasts.

Li hopes to expand the project beyond East Tennessee, calling it a step toward smarter water infrastructure and disaster planning.
