Article Icon 1School Voucher Program Data Released

The state of Tennessee received 42,837 applications for taxpayer-funded school vouchers, according to data released last week. All 20,000 of the available vouchers were given out.

Because every child learns differently, these scholarships let families decide what school works best for their child,” said state Sen. Rusty Crowe, R-Johnson City. “For the vast majority of students, public schools will still be the right fit… but now parents will have a little more freedom.”

State data shows that scholarships were awarded to students in 86 of Tennessee’s 95 total counties, though the data does not show which counties received vouchers and which did not.

In addition, participating students were enrolled at 220 of 241 eligible schools across the state.

Polk County celebrated the grand opening of Ocoee River State Park, formerly part of Hiwassee/Ocoee Scenic River Park, on Saturday.

The park offers 17 miles of access to the Ocoee River and is only one hour east of Chattanooga.

Officials say that as its own park, Ocoee River State Park will be better positioned to focus on protecting natural resources, expanding services, and serving the community and park visitors.

Tennessee’s wet spring and summer will help create especially beautiful fall foliage, according to The Foliage Report.

When to expect the best color depends on what part of the state you live in or plan to visit.

If you go to Eastern Tennessee towards the Smokies, that’s normally late October, is what we are looking at right now for peak color. For Nashville, it’s going to be early November or the second week of November,” said Kyle Cotner, the owner of The Foliage Report.

The Flyover

A groundbreaking discovery is transforming how we understand memory and brain health.

Scientists at the prestigious Weinberg College of Chicago recently built the world’s most advanced atomic microscope, powerful enough to look deep inside a living, active brain. What they saw left them stunned: the true location of memory cells, and how these cells shape our daily habits, decisions, and even personality.

Even more exciting, their research revealed a simple way to restore lost memory and sharpen mental clarity—without expensive treatments or risky medications. A revolutionary mental training program now makes it possible to reverse even severe memory loss using just a few easy, 3-minute techniques.

Because it relies on natural brain retraining—not drugs or supplements—powerful corporations are already trying to keep this discovery from the public.

The opportunity to reclaim your memory may not be available for long.
