185 Ghanaian Students Face Dismissal

Nearly 200 Ghanaian students on government scholarships at the University of Memphis risk academic dismissal and possible deportation due to unpaid tuition.

The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat reportedly owes the university $3.6 million, but has only paid $400,000 so far.

Students say they’ve received no clear answers from officials in Ghana, despite repeated appeals.

If the debt isn’t settled by fall, students could lose their visas, jeopardizing both their education and immigration status.

Musk Moves Power Plant Overseas to Memphis

Elon Musk’s xAI confirmed it’s buying an overseas power plant and shipping the entire thing to Memphis to power a massive new data center.

The facility could soon house up to 1 million Nvidia GPUs and consume nearly 2 gigawatts of electricity—enough to power 1.9 million homes.

xAI’s current Colossus supercomputer is already considered one of the most powerful machines on the planet.

Parkridge East Hospital in Chattanooga welcomed its tiniest patients to their first Independence Day celebration this week.

Hospital staff took to the internet to share photos of the “little firecrackers,” with newborns being swaddled in stars and stripes to mark the holiday.
